Jen's Forestry competition

Jen's first event...pole climb.

I had to talk her into doing the ax throw...but she placed 2nd overall.

If you look behind her, she is taking out her bullseye shot!

Dad would have been proud to watch her with the chainsaw.

This is choker setting. She had a great first run...hopping right over that large old growth.

The Dept of Forestry came out to help with this one...hose lay.

They each had a part to do to hook up the hose & connect it to the water tank, then turn on the hose & spray. Jen is in the upper right.

Here is the fire engine & the water tank.

This gives you persective for the pole climb.

Jenifer & her partner, Alyssha, choosing their blade saw.

This was probably the most physically demanding event.

Jen's cheering section!

The most fun event...log roll! Jen got first in novice!

The awards ceremony. Jen came away with 1st, two 3rds, two 4ths & 5th & 6th places...I think! Too many to keep track of! Overall a very fun day!

Halloween Helpers

Noah & Hannah came over to help hand out candy. They were so excited to see all the kids in costumes. Noah's job was to answer the door & Hannah would pass out the candy as Noah stood in awe of the kids. Pretty soon he started asking them what they were, or else he would blurt out "you're a skeleton" as they walked away.

Our Birthday Trip to Eagle Crest

Three Sisters from atop Pilot Butte...after eating a Pilot Butte Burger of course!

Ryan & Peter

Peter giving Ryan a good manly HUG!

Our good friends, Peter & Tanya, who took us to Eagle Crest
to celebrate our birthdays! Great low-key weekend playing
games & reading & napping!
No, that's not a dirty napkin...that is our creative wrapping paper
for Ryan's birthday present. The wad is supposed to be a bow!

Oct 9-14 Hunting Trip to Grass Valley

Unfortunately, this is as successful as the hunting trip was. No, that's not any kind of an animal, but Dad was really proud to find an evergreen pine tree growing in the area!

Ryan pruning the tree...instead of hunting?

Dad, Ryan & David Mather...looks like they had a great time!
